1.19 beta oom crash

Happened either during autosave or a manual save after about 50 - 100 turns. Much sooner than with previous patch. Using mods expanded factions, updated weapons, adventure content and murteaus grimore.

I just read that expanded factions is incompatible with 1.19. I was using a custom faction vs generic factions, no expanded factions in this particular game.

  Thanks for providing this.

From what I can tell you loaded an old save that had a bunch of mod stuff in it.  The game had trouble with it and consumed almost a gig of ram.  You didn't exit Elemental.  Instead you started a new game, but the lost memory was still gone.  Your new game didn't get very far before it ran out of memory, because even on turn 1 it has still lost the 1gig that was leaked in the prior game.

I don't think you would have run into this if you would have exited and reloaded Elemental.  Or not loaded the old save with the mod info in it.

Damn, I sent you the wrong debug file! Thanks for replying so fast though. The debug file I sent you was when I started a new game with the mods option turned off, thinking it might be the mods that were causing the oom crash in the game I was referring to in the previous post. I did restart Elemental when I started the new game as it was after the oom crash from the prior game, I  unchecked mods option, then restarted again. I did reload a save during gameplay but that save was from the current game, without any mods loaded. I noticed that even though the mods were supposed to be unloaded, many of the mods effects were still in the game. For example, updated weapons effects were still in-game, murteaus grimore spells were in the spellbook (no picture just text) but were unavailable for use, and adventure content still had npcs available and it's quest locations still appeared. Doesn't make sense that all this mod info is still being loaded when the mod option is unchecked. Expanded Factions had some factions loaded but I would expect that since it changes the race folder.

I have been playing Elemental since release and enjoyed every minute of it. I really appreciate all the improvements you've brought to the game and hard work you guys have been doing!

edit - I started a new game today and created a new sov. Everything looks fine now; no mods are loaded. Seems using an old sov might have been the problem, causing parts of mods to load - even though it was a new game? I thought it would be ok to use an old sov since the sovs and factions weren't deleted with this patch.

I had my first OOM crash in weeks as well.

The map I was playing on was originally generated by Elementerra and I added an island so that I could check out the research tree and let the AI's duke it out. I planned on seeing how they were utilizing the map with the new 1.19 patch and see if it had gotten any more intelligent.

Also, on a side note, when I first started there were two things I noticed - I could not select Jaunsk after he joined me - he initiated the dialogue whereas normally he'll speak, then I'll click him to recruit him. He was frozen in time. I haven't reloaded this save to see if that fixes it. But also, there's a random NPC that spawned near my city and even though they aren't in my civilization, I can see their line of site as they move around.

Here's another oom during autosave. This game is with a new sov, and no mods. Looking at the debug file, it seems that the memory problems occur when I load a save from within the game. I did this twice and the memory used skyrocketed along with error messages. I was able to play for quite a while after loading the saves, however.
