[1.11] I guess I have to wait...

I have to say that this game has improved a lot!  The AI is getting much better and I can actually say its starting to challenge me. I am glad Stardock knows what customer service and appreciation means!

That all said, I can't play the game. Well, I can as long as I never turn it off (or it does't decide to quit on its own). My best game ever (read: longest played) I have researched up to level 7 techs (not sure what turn that was for soon to be obvious reasons). Every single game I have played, v1.09 and up, my save games eventually get corrupted. It is annoying, but I am getting pretty good at beginning strategies. :)

Inevitably, what happens is the game will crash on load or I will get that OoM error and then when I re-load a save the map is empty. No units, cities, etc. I can see roads and points of interest through the fog, but nothing else.

My most recent problem occurred when I was in game and attempted to reload a save. Shortly after the hint window popped up and then disappeared the game crashed to desktop with no message beyond the Windows 'this program has stopped responding' message. I restarted Elemental and tried to load the same save. It loads, but with the aforementioned empty map problem. Upon trying to load previous saves, the game either crashes or the map comes up empty or both. (These are previous saves that had worked at an earlier time before the crash.)

I have included all the debug files and saves for this most recent set of crashes:

I have also included a save to the very start of the game. It loads fine.

Everything that crashes on my system seems to point to some issue(s) with the saving.  Please fix this as I really want to rule Elemental as the Absolute Overlord!! (But can't get there because the crashes make me start over...)

Thanks.

Just a hunch - but I would strongly recommend running a memtest overnight on your machine - faulty RAM can slowly corrupt not only your savegames.

Also, try running a disk test for bad blocks on the partition you have your saves installed.

Have you tried zooming in and then zooming out.  I have some times loaded to a map with no cities and units and zooming brings it back.

I hope that's it.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll give them a try and see what happens.
