Game play and so on..

Just wondering do everyone play the game the same way, you know just researching tech, and civ than beating the ai, or do anyone else try to go about the game in a different light?

 

I am, has always been, and will always be a magic crazed freak XD, I always start with researching magic/sorcerery and always seem to keep it 3- 4 levels ahead of every other tech upgrade (needless to say I keep my MAGUS, sovereign  in the front lines casting altering and elemental spells., with a summon or two as cannon fodder.)

You are not alone in your approach to the game. I love to go the magic route as well. Thanks to the inceased stability of version 1.11, my little elven sorceress (with 4 fire shards in her empire!) was dropping bombs like it was the Great War and her 3 sons, armed with Ythril bows, mowed down the few irradiated survivers while a fully buffed earth elemental played guard dog - priceless. It's an indication of how great this game is going to be once Kael and the others can finally concentrate on game design rather than stability.

 I'm a magic addict... as a general rule I allways try to have a 10 person coterie of channelers (at the bare minimum) so I start raising their Int as soon as they start leveling up. This way, Mid to Late game, I have enough heros with Int scroes high enough to cast the spells that I want them to use.
