Out of Memory issue 1.1

Every 30 minutes

I am getting an out of Memory issue every 30 minutes. I started using FreeRamXP Pro 1.52 to help with this issue and it helped a little. Instead of every 15 minutes it now happens every 30 minutes but now I got to a point in the game that no longer even works. When upgrading to the Villa tech as soon as I start doing stuff in the game it goes down with an Out of Memory issue.

Computer Specs

EVGA 780i FTW Motherboard
Intel Quad Extreme QX9650
8 Gigs of Memory
Nvidia MSI GTX 470

All drivers including video are up to the latest. I have no other issues with any other games but this one. I just purchased it for the special that was running ot the end of the year. This is pretty frustrating, I can email you a saved game if you like. This issue is not aparant in the early part of the game. It is when you start getting to the mid and end game were it is aparant and unberable. Monitoring the memory usage I have seen the game grab up to 1.6 gigs of memory at times with my system still having another 4 GB that is doing nothing and still get the Out of Memory issue. This leads me to believe the memory issue is coming from the video card side which tells me there is a bug in the code causing this. Please let me know what I can do to help, I have allot of experience with this kind of stuff as I helped Paradox write the LUA AI scripts for Hearts of Iron 3 Sempter Fi and its previous version Hearts of Iron 2 as well.

Sincerely
Lothos

Most ppl seem to be having this issue regardless of specs, guess they need to address this quickly since I would love to play the game but that seems to be impossible right now.

Its a Vram probblem with vido cards over 512mb. patch 1.2 is suppost to have a memery dump fuction to prevent this.

sorry frosty, but I am having the OOM on machines withboth  1gb of video ram and on machine with 256mb of vram, and it is more likely that the cause is memory leaks in the cpu ram data than in a video card ram, and I do use the lowest detail settings as well.

I use a dinosaur with win xp/Sp3, 1gb ram and 256vram (the bottom line of requirements).

And i play with all mid range settings, AA enabled and insane 1920* 1180, avoid the cloth map (it's plain ugly!) and

never use auto resolve. The game runs smooth and fine for around the first 50-75 turns, than starts lagging and...

Get a swap file around 1,5gb around 75-100 turns, save&exit, start&load allows me to play another 20 turns till OoM kills my machine.

This looks for me not like vram issue - thats a giant cpu memory leak.

The gama data load itself seems to get too huge....

WinXP 32-bit, nvidia 7950gtx (512MB), dual core, 2GB ram. Same issue in sandbox mode not in campaign.

Please Please Please address this quickly stardock. I can't finish a game due to this so theres no point in starting one in the first place. Your amazing game will continue to lose players if it stays unplayable.

OOM problems do suck, and it is so annoying because some people report no problems...thought that seems highly unlikley. I have two machines I run this on and I have OOM problems on both. On my 260m GTX in my lappy I get less OOM problems than on my nice powerful desktop.

Well hopefully they fix this soon, it is a fun game but I just can't take it anymore and had to shelf it for now. Tired of every 15 minutes having to restart the game cause it crashes with an OOM error. Back to playing EverQuest 2.

Wish you guys luck in fixing it.

On the plus side, I see this error message less frequently as the game crashes more constantly from DirectX failures.

Crashes in general are bad still but much better after last patch. Im looking for something to smooth the game out some. I would also like the game to move the screen when i use arrows keys and not the units. Ai needs to be dumbed down on novice to.

@Stardock

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

This error occurs on saving (and autosaving) for me. It's reproducible and happens every 1 to 6 saves. So the longer I don't save, the longer I can play (by disabling autosave for example) but then my progress is never guaranteed to be save...

Makes me really avoid playing any longer, but I soo love that game!
