Questions about Convergence

First of all,the program looks really great! My congrats to all Stardock developing team involved in this one.

Now lets go the questions:

1- How can I add a skin/theme for a program that is not in the defaut list.

2- Why Icon packager is not in that list, since it is a Stardock product? ( I have matching Ipack themes in some of my suites)

3- Wich will be the rules for uploading Convergence packs? Can a person upload a pack using other original author's skins, themes, walls, etc, without permission? =/

4- My help button doesn't work.

Anyway, this will be a hell of an app.

1) Can you provide an example of what you mean?

2) Bug. HEre's the irony, the lead developer of Covergence is the lead developer of IconPackager.

3) This is covered in the documentation. The answer is no, you cannot upload someone else's stuff without permission.

Hope that helps!

Brad, very useful program!

However, in the Convergence description page it says that the first beta of Convergence supports NeXTStart (partially) and WorkShelf(partially). I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, so what exactly does 'partially' mean?

an example...if I want to add EzPop, Coolplayer, Greybook, etc...

It is supposed to store your NeXTStart and Workshell skin but it currently doesn't apply them.

I have a question concerning Convergence and LiteStep.
Obviously it would be difficult to include Litestep in the group because of Litestep's lack of standards or automated theme switching. But will there be a way to trigger convergence's "suite" switching capabilities from within Litestep?
For instance there exists a little utility that I use right now to switch Windowblinds skins from within Litestep. So the same idea but with the entire Convergence "suites"?
Sorry if I'm not too clear

What's the programmer's email address so I can tell him how to accomplish that?

I'm afraid that's information I don't have Jorge. But it sounds like your saying the concept is feasable?

Phil...which mod switches the WB's in 'STEP?...
Paul, it's called wbcommand.exe

you activate it using the following syntax from within the step.rc:

C:\Litestep\Themes\Oberon\CustomMods\WBCommand OberonO

The path points to where you have the exe. It seems to need to be a hard coded path rather than using variables. The last word is the name of the particular windowblinds skin you wish to load.

I use it with my popup driven theme switching and have it change the windowblinds skin along with the litestep theme.

Let me know if you need it. I'll mail it to you from work in the morning

Phil...Yes I heard of that some time ago, but now I have the urge for it..

cool, I'll be into work in about 8 hours and I'll fire it over.
But now it's off to bed

aw shucks!!

Phil, I would call it feasable, yes - all it takes is about 2 lines of code.

Yea, you can get Convergence by purchasing Object Desktop. Convergence is one of the features of OD.
