I used to run at the ever popular 1024x768. Now that I've moved up in the world and purchased a nice large monitor, I'm working on a Solace in Blue DX theme. However, I have a question... Are more of you using 1280x960 or 1280x1024?

The eye strain is an issue, I would be jumping off the walls if I could run 1600x1200, but I am currently on 17 inch monitors on all three systems and my eyes cannot handle anything above 1280x1024, The eye strain is slightly still there, but the work space is more important, and you are right, when working on printed material or large scale prints you need that work space. Also a few microscopes help.

My head's at 20 cm of the screen anyway, baking in the radiation, so 1600x1200 on a 17" is no problem for me. I'd put it even higher if my monitor could handle that.
