How to find cities?

Hi,

I just remembered a critical question which i am desperate for an answer because it is the one thing really driving me crazy in 1.1?

 

I am playing a large map and as my empire starts to grow, i will not remember exactly where all my cities are. When i open the empire tab i can access a list of all my cities which is fantastic, and i can see what each city is building. Now in the case where a city is building a unit but no building, and i want to start construction, i can open the construction tool but it does not scroll to the city, so i cannot choose a construction site!

So my question is this, if the city is building a unit and i want to construct a building and i do not remember where the city is, how do i find it? Apart from scrolling all over the map like a drunken fool looking for it?

 

Edit: And also apart from relying on construction complete reports.... since i may not want to start a new construction at that time.

On your left is a list of cities. Clicking on them once will zoom to it, unless it is already on your screen. Cities that aren't doing anything are outlined with yellow.

Thank you, but on my left is a long list of units, no cities are visible. How do i scroll down that list to see the cities?

ObjectDock - Access shortcuts and frequently used applications from an animated dock.

If you put your cursor over the unit icons on the side of the screen, you should be able to scroll down with your mouse wheel until you find city icons. Then you can click on the city icons and it will bring you to that city. Also, I'm not sure, but there may be a scroll bar next to the icons.

I think i tried that already? I will give it another try tonight, thanks. There is certainly no scroll bar.
