Hi everybody

 

So this game i have been playing refuses to advance to the 356th turn. I've tried to save & restart the game. I've restarted the game and loaded a previous autosave (turn 351). And still at turn 355 it refuses to advance to the next turn. I click the next turn button but nothing happens. Curiously there isn't any kind of crash, and after the useless click i can still perform actions within the game.

External link proved contains a zip with debug.err and two savegames (one at turn 355 and one at turn 351).

I'm willing to put in some effort into gathering some more information on this problem, it's just that i don't know what to do next.

Maybe the good old auto explore bug?

Check for any Units that have auto explore enabled - sometimes when there is no undiscovered tile nearby they got stuck while searching for a new destination and the turn wont advance.

Solution: Disabble all auto explores that seem not to have any current movement calculation and manually move them to a new undiscovered area before continuing autoexplore. (Mostly happens with ships for me)

I just had something similar in the way early game where I wound up having to disband the things which were on autoexplore.

 

They were peasants, though.. so it was cool.

Aah, that was it. Some auto-exploring boat didn't know where to go. Thanks you guys.

Just came to the forums to report the same bug.  This is the answer.  Thanks - there should be a comment to state the unit is idle on autoexplore.
