109t... season 14 and dragon attacks.........

Playing the game on normal, season 14 comes and while my girl and her soon to be husband and 2 other recruits are in town sharing a moment, a Dawn Dragon (59/59, 32 attack, 36 armor and combat rating of 62) appears out of nowhere and is well, unstoppable.  It attacks my town and my two recruits are gone in no time.  The other two run away and the dragon wins my city.  There were 3 gold mines and 3 fertile lands close by. Damm!  Finally it moves out of sight and I build another city again.  BOOM!.......it's right back attacking.......wasting what little forces I had.  I'm dead at season 21...................Brutal!!!!:'(

I take it Janusk wasn't there? He doesn't tolerate dragon nonsense. He would have kicked that dragon back to the future of season 150.

On a serious note that is a weird one. Never seen that in any of my games.

Sounds like one of the other civs flew through adventuring tech and sent something really nasty out into the world. That would be my first guess. I haven't seen anything like that in many, many versions of Elemental.

Yea......I did.  I saved right after it took my town.  Played around with it for awhile too.  But I had nothing, no town, 1 staff and a club. It had one thng, killer fireballs.  16 damage as I remember.  It would chase me around. And since I was abit faster, I would run and run and run.  When it did catch me, I was fried.:waaaa: I deleted it because I couldn't do anythnig against it.  But I did get a big kick out of it showing up.

Ya know, I never even thought about that:O   I was on a downloaded map called "r5".  Normal, with everything on, on the setup screen.  With a custom character too.

Well turns out it's in the map....... Dragon appears season 14 again and again.8|

There was apparently a bug where campaign units were spilling into the regular game, though I would bet it was just a surprise placed in that map. Some of the Download maps are fairly old and are not exactly up to spec with the new patches. Yet, either way, i hope you learned a valuable lesson...NO ONE EXPECTS THE DRAGON INQUISITION!

i get this too; monsters attacking in the early game that it would have been completely impossible to defeat. i like how the monsters work and behave, but this SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.

what if that had been someone's first game?

This was behavior in the beta for a little while.  It won't happen with the current beta (now the starting monsters ramp up over the first 25 turns).

Thanks for the insight, Derek. I have recently started to notice that if I don't build a city right away, the monster units don't seem to spawn. Any reason for this?
