So I just fired up elemental to start a new game and was welcomed by the "MAJOR UPDATE AVAILABLE" popup.
I was already at 1.09q so that was kind of strange. Impulse showed the update as only 18.80 KB.
Has anybody else had this happen?
All my updates are 2gb, so you should consider yourself lucky if it is only 18 kb
Yup, I just got one too, no changelog or history for it, but it was 6.xx Megs for me. 1.09r isn't released yet, so I am assuming it's some sort of hotfix for 1.09q
downloaded it but the same thing happenned played for about 5 minutes crashed and cant load it back up...
A couple minutes ago, the GAME said major update, with comments referring to 1.08. I think I saw those comments long ago.
Impulse says a minor update, from 1.09q to 1.09r. Updating as I type...... done -- it must have been a small one.
I recently updated to 1.09q and found some of the random creature stats to have been pumped quite a bit. The game would only go about 40-50 turns before it crashed on me however. I'm downloading 1.09r as I am typing this, hopefully a bit more stable.
Updating now from q to r. 8Mb
I should point out that this happend before 1.09r was released.
Phantom patches and now I have that 2.0GB patch size bug that people have been saying about. First time I've seen it.
So far it's never a 2.0 gb patch, you just have to remember to turn off pre-release, right click verify to the latest release version, then pre-release your way back to the patch. I'm astounded they don't have that posted in the patch log and everywhere else.
lol that 2.0gb is not the patch that's the size of the entire file. Mine says 2.26gb and it also says that at the top where the game is at the far right that it is 2.26gb total.
yeah mine refuses to download a small update and insists on downloading 2gb again when patching from 1.09n.. very annoying..
It's easily fixed by disabling pre-releases and forcing the game to update to 1.09e and then re-enabling and downloading the latest patch...
But I'm more concerned about impulse telling me there's a patch when there isnt one and managing to download and install something that obviously doesn't exist.
well i've tried that and it dont work for me.... .,.
edit: scratch that, its now working with 1.09s..
