Are Darklings meant to be immune to all special abilities as well as standard spells?

For example, it appears that they are completely immune to Crushing Blow.  I know that Special Abilities are technically spells in Elemental, but are Darklings meant to be immune to all Special Ability <Spells> as well as Standard Spells?

Yes. They have spell immunity. So any spell will always show Immune.

My guess is it's a coding limitation rather than an intentional design feature.

Some abilities aren't really spells though...

Specifically, Crushing Blow.  Dominate (Assassin) is another example.

Plus all those cool abilities in the weapons mod as well, Darklings are immune to all of these.

While they shouldn't be spells, they are. Thats how the special ability system works.
