Heavenfall, will you please create a patch so that everyone can wear traveler's boots?

Just make all your heroes human.  It makes no differece to gameplay whatsoever and the tools make it so you can change their appearance fairly well.

the problem with that is that there are non-human champions you can recruit who can't wear boots.  argh!

I'm not Heavenfall, but here is a quick mod that should do what you want.  Just add it to your mods folder and enable mods (you'll probably have to start a new game).    The key is the <SupportedUnitModelType>  tag in the xml.  It has to have an entry for all types of models that you want to use the item.

edit:  Man I was ninja'd by Heavenfall.   Oh, well, I'm sure his is more polished.   

edit2:  Yep, Heaven's file includes his expanded faction models as well, so his is the better one to use.
