[1.09p] Bizarre CTD during load

So, I've played another 4 hours this morning. Started a couple games, and have been getting unstable around turn 150-200 in general.

Crashes seem to be occurring between turns when there is a ZoC calculation, or after I've re-grouped military units in overland (could just be ZoC coincidence, though). There also seem to be some save-related instabilities yet also, as I've crashed more than once while saving.

The odd thing that I've had happen twice now is after a CTD, when I try to load the game is the opening screen pops up, then I get a dialog box that says "failed to download data file. Make sure you are connected to the internet.." and other such. Impulse says I'm at most recent patch.

The oddest thing is that particular error happened 2-3 times in succession, then went away for no apparent reason, and I just had it again 2 times in succession.

I had the same problem with loading the saved games. Basically had to start a new game because the old one was unloadable :-)

Autosave, previous autosave and my save all resulted in crashes. Once I got the message about failing to download data file, other times game simply crashed when trying to load.

I'll try to load it today again. It happened around turn 130.

When you crash, you don't get properly logged out, so it can take a bit for your previous connection to expire so that you can login again.

We're trying to track down the crash on end turn and the saving crash.

I've mentioned in another couple posts that I think they may be related. When I was getting end-of-turn crashes, I manually saved more often so I wouldn't have to replay so many turns. When I started saving every turn, I never got another end-of-turn crash until I stopped saving as often.

Is it possible then that it is linked to the Autosave function?

That's a good point. I save each turn manually and it has seemed to cut down on crashes.
