[1.09p] Text layering problem

A lot of text in the game is pushing itself to the top layer since I updated:

Edit: Before playing I decided to delete my screens folder and let the game recreate them to see if it would fix the black terrain issue. Each time it recreated the folder, it did this. I restored the original and it displays correctly. I let it create the folder again, and the same layering problem occurred.
