I apologize if this is already mentioned.
Please consider further buffing of all Sovereign Capitals with either:
- AI changes to retain more units for the defense (beyond the spouse)
- Bonus for all defending units
I'm finding little challenge post-beta by still steamrolling opponents early on. Pre-beta it was the hire heroes, imbue, max essence, and summon monsters approach. Post-beta it is the hire heroes, gear heroes with armor, train hordes of peasant spearman, tank with heroes, kite with Oak Spearman, roll the entire map, and max out hp of heroes. The tactical combat approach remains the same as the game progresses: tank with high armor/hp heroes and train cheap glass cannons for kiting and dps bursts after counter-attacks are used up against the heroes.
If the Sovereign Capitals were tougher to capture in early game I would be unable to stretch supply lines. I might capture all the smaller towns but would have to worry about sorties from the Capital. Teleport would help mitigate that a bit later but it would give the rest of the opponents time to advance while I'm bogged down. Right now it feels like I'm ganking lowbies in the Barrens.
