I get a popup in the center of my screen that has Stardock Central Tray as the header and an exclamation mark with the word aborted in the center. When I sat down this morning to use my computer there where around 60 of them on my screen. Also every time I start SDC I get the upgrade popup but it's blank with no upgrades. can someone help please??

If your dsl is disconnected then how do you expect to recieve updates from SDC? SDC needs to connect to the internet to retrive the updates. Also, How is it that your DSL is not always connected? DSL's are supposed to be ( Ithought) an always on service. If you try to retrieve updates when you are connected and you can't, and you're still getting those error messages,I suggest you try uninstalling and re-installing SDC.

Crissy14 thanks for you observation. Verizon online has this thing where you have to connect with there service as it's not an always on DSL (I'm just waiting for cable DSL in my area) any way the older versions of SDC was intelagent enought to detect a connection as it never produced those errors before this update, and besides what about people that use modems they are not connected all the time. I well know about the fact that it checks on those updates, but the error messages can be corrected. I know I've only be in the computer bussiness for 30 years.

I have verizon DSL also and as soon as I boot up my computer I'm online. This is so because I configured it to connect on boot up. I guess I just assumed most people did this so they do have an always on connection. People with dial up obviously would have to connect to retrieve anything from the web.

An the point I was trying to get at is that if your computer is not on-line, and SDC is trying to update, then that is why you are getting those messages and no updates. (unless Im not understanding you correctly)

Roger, I dunno about your Verizon DSL, but mine is on 24/7 365 days a year and has been excluding a couple of burps caused at their end of things...

Never off line here...
