1.09n download says "The beta of the application...is not available"

Error: The beta of the application you are attempting to download/register is not available.

This is on Windows 7 64bit, I tried as admin, removing UAC, logging in and out of impulse, all of that.


Also, I'm new to these forums.  I tried searching for this post, but the google driven search only caught a similar message for different game, which didn't have any useful tips.  If there is an existing thread, please direct me there.

ps- bought this game on release date but quit after 2 plays, hope it's playable, I WANT to like this game so much.

Thanks Derek and team!  It is resolved.  Thanks for the quick turn around, I'm gonna dive into this beta.  Can't wait to see the further AI tweaks and other work after the beta, but those patch notes drew me ahead of 1.1!

Also, Kael? Hey congrats!  (probably tired of hearing that by now :p ) I loved your modding in civ (I've been a long time fanatic, and your work was always something that drew me back to the game) and understand you come from a project management backgroud?  Mr. Wardell must have a good head on his shoulders to bring you aboard.  Best of wishes.  Seems like this company would be a fun place to work.

Hi, 

I've already downloaded/installed the beta from last week.  Today I see there in another update available (also 1.09n, but is says 'Wednesday 11/24 MVP build - includes AI changes' in the view history so I assume this is in addition to the original beta?).  However, when I try to update Elemental it says "File downloaded is smaller than expected" and will not update... ?

I had a similar problem just now, after noticing another new patch since my first post.  I went into preferences in impulse, reset data, and tried again.  Got the same "smaller" error message.  I 'checked for updates' on impulse menu, it said impulse client had an update (this happens to me every time I reset data for some reason).  It auto-restarted after the update, I tried the Elemental patch again, and it seems to have worked.
