[1.09n] Tac Battle Feedback

I have been playing some Hero vs. Creature battles for about three hours now. I have to say that I like what I see. Leather armor is working very well against low level creatures, but still allows some damage to get through, as I assume you intended. Staves and daggers are well balanced and I have to say all the "equipment" tech is very well priced compared to its game function. I face roughly 2 enemy groups per turn and have two very well equipped armies of heroes and low level soldiers. I was unfortuneatly able to fully equip every one after a few battles due to the extremely high l3wt I get from battles (500-1500 gildar). Archers are doing better than they ever have, getting significant strikes but not ignoring armor or dodge. Magic is something I have left out until later. Leveling is impecable. Nothing more to say about it as long as dodge is working the way you say. A few times during battle I have had to autoreslove because the AI won't end its turn. Other than that, combat is very fluid and apropriately strategic. The AI is good at finding weak points in my front lines and exploiting them. Their numbers and stats are spot on at level one.

All in all I would say this version warrants a 4.5 out of five. Great job guys.

Did you get dodge to work? Did your units ever dodge anything? Because in my games, and even when tweaking the dodge and accuracy values for experiment purpose, I've NEVER had a succesful dodge.

I have seen the same issue with the Tactical autoresolve as you say the AI seems to not finish it's turn and leaves you virtually hung in the game.  W/o the autoresolve button the game WOULD be hung.  This was in production 1.09.

 

I hope SD tracks that down and squishes it.  It might be hard since I noticed it only occasionally occurs and those occasional issues can be difficult to root cause.

Dodge is working I think, but it shows itself as a block. It would be nice to know the difference. The problem could also lie in the dodge stat not being fixed to the specifications on the forum. I will run a test with 0 defense and see how high dodge needs to be to have an affect.

I have tested it and it seems that dodge is not currently working. Waiting for the post-holiday fixes to continue.
