[1.09n] Tactical combat bugs, terrain selection bug and game crash

1) You probably already know about the damage bugs but I'll list them again for posterity.

The damage comes up with a fairly constant value in terms of the floating text, however it is not the actual damage applied.

In some situations damage text will not appear.

if you try and shoot someone in the adjacent square wih a bow, all attacks are "Resist"

2) In certain places of the large map specifically near the section with the pre-made roads, I get very strange terrain tile selection when moving. I find I need to click in the top right corner of the square or I get adjacent tiles. Very annoying.

3) Your old favourite alt-tab is crashing the game again; I got an "invalid call" error.

Also I wanted to give you big props for the changes you've made so far. I really like the mana pool and new city building window. But please... FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS WAR AND MAGIC. please create a shortcut for the equip screen. It can't be that hard to do. :)

Found another tactical bug just now. When you click on a target that is at the edge of your range it gives you an extra turn.

 

e.g. a wolf is 3 squares away and your sovereign can move 2, your sovereign will move the two squares, attack and then have action points left over.

No 2, I had something similar happen to me as well. I was sure in tactical combat I would click on one square but my unit would move to another adjacent square.

In my first post on this forum this was the exact thing I requested.  Please make "E" the Hotkey for the equipment screen!  Or at least make it user definable somewhere.

Since tactical battles are discussed here, I'd like to add that the game crashes whenever I try to harm a ranged unit. My enemy has some archers, and I have only melee units. If I kill the archer with spell, it's OK. But whenever I corner them and try to defeat in melee, the game allows me to do only one strike and then freezes. Perhaps the computer is annoyed of me trying to destroy his ranged units, as it thought they are invincible. O_o

It might be related to all the player's archers getting resists when adjacent.

I'd like to see the bug fixed, but the "archers can't fight in close combat" aspect maintained. It's tactical, and it balances ranged weapons more against melee. Right now, why would I want melee weapons when I can "shoot" you point-blank and you don't get a counter-attack.
