Love it!

Nearly passed it for now.

Hi,

Nearly passed on this one for the time beeing. Thought I wait for some more patches or save the money.

Blimey, that would have been my biggest game shopping error!  :O  And this is quite a long gamer live we are a talking about.

Magicless alternative version V rests on the shelf for now (aka on the turning sturdy disk) and MAV 5 is no slouch too. Just needed three sandboxgames to fell utterly in love with Elemental. By the way did not like the campaign, prefered to jump and read the faq and fan strategy guides instead. First game in years I lost a hella of sleep in three days and two nights.

Keep up your good work at Stardock!

Motomouse, proud Elemental and Galciv fanboy

Yep, me2!!  I love this game!  Like motomouse, I've also just recently gotten it.  It has totally dominated my free time; bled over into my work time; and cut significantly into my sleep time.  I am VERY happy with it already.  I look forward to the updates, but I'm already thoroughly enjoying it.  Long live the king!

Thanks guys.  We're glad you like it.  We're chomping at the bit to show you some of the things we've been working on that we think will make it a lot better still.

There's been some phenomenal feedback from players such as yourselves that have made us think of things (example: breaking quests into components that can be mixed and matched together so you end up with an infinite diversity of quests that also makes it easier for users to submit their own quests "components".

We've got one other huge announcement we hope to make in the next few weeks that we think will really excite people even more about the direction we're going.

Ditto.  Just bought it this week.  I had been itching for a 4X game.  At first, I was leaning towards Civ 5.  But with all the poor responses from the gaming community, I decided to steer away from it.  I searched around for others and came across this one.  While there are a number of issues that need to be fixed, there is nothing that I see that can't be solved in the short term future with some patches.  Overall the game is beautiful.  My biggest complaint is with the documentation.  A lot of the game play is fairly intuitive.  But there were definitely some points that I struggled with, particularly the tech & spell trees.

My recommendation after 1.1 hits is to get one of the gaming review websites to re-evaluate this game.  Right now, you're the best kept secret out there.  I was a big fan of Master of Magic, but I never would have came across this if I hadn't been digging around for it.

Quest components ? really ? cool ! Frogboy, you need to make a sticky for these announcements so we can oo and aaahh over them. That will add some very nice replay to the game.

I'm liking the game, it's different from all the other games out on the market right now, feels refreshing. :D
