Finding Quest Locations

One of the things that gets repeatedly difficult is when I manage to get a quest, I often can not tell where the target location is.

When I initially get the quest, it usually scrolls the map a bit, and shows me a bit of map.

After that, I have to go to the cloth map and try moving my mouse on all the odd looking dots to see if something is the location I am looking for.

In this particular case, I got to the tavern, got told "I will tell you the locaiton of the tempe" (where they are taking the dragon's egg), and the map did not scroll, I can see no new symols on the map, and even going out to the cloth map I do not see anything.

There really needs to be a way from the quest page to get it to tell you where the current target is?  Is there such a way and I missed it?  Is there any sensible way to find the target after the initial pseudo-display?
