Fixing the Glossary: "Specialists" should be"Artisans" - "Green thumb" should be "Hunter" Any other Changes Wanted?

A bunch of people you take from a generic group of workers and suddenly you decide to make them do something can hardly be considered "specialists". I mean they will become specialists AFTER you put them to work but while they are in that pool they are just a bunch of people old enough to work. If the word Artisans is not perfect either (because they don't work "yet") at least it attracts less attention on that paradox.

You could maybe want to call them "workers", if the problem is that they include farmers and you do not want to call farmers "artisans". 

But the word "artisans" is my favorite since it holds an ancient Latin\medieval connotation that the word "specialists" just doesn't have.

(Also the skill "green thumb" should be "hunter"... My mom has a green thumb, not a fantasy hero.  ...Gosh what would Stardock do without me bitching about these things! Any time they don't find the words just PM me!)

Any opinions any other terms you would like to see changed?

Unless your hunter is actively killing enough wildlife a turn to feed 50 people, the name doesn't really apply. Green Thumb implies a sovereign with an interest in the fields their people uses, so it's appropriate.

Only major name change I'd like is the ability to input a custom plural name for soldiers I make. I don't want my Axeman soldier type to end up as Axemans.

My hunter is actively killing enough wildlife a turn to feed 50 people: he'd do anything not to be called "green thumb". His partners are all orcs, and those guys are rather homophobic. But if you hang out with elves, that's definitely another story.

I agree with CrazyHarlequin.  Nothing wrong with "Green Thumb."  So... you are going to feed your empire by catching deer for 1000s of people?  What happens when you run out of deer?  Isn't that why people became farmers to begin with, to support larger populations per area?  More food through hunting makes zero sense, whereas if you institute improved farming techniques based on your skillful knowledge of gardening, that might well have a diffuse benefit on the amount of food available for everone. 

"Artisan" vs. "specialist," maybe artisan sounds a little nicer in context, I'll give you that one.

Actually when I hear green thumb or hunter I imagine that the sovreign doesn't do all the hunting or the farming all by himself and that is only a small bonus on the overall food... But considering your profile pix I can imagine that all your thumbs and fingers ...and toes are green after all... :D ...Still an orc who prefers cabbage to boar meat should be running around with the elves wearing a pink g-string... but who am I to judge! ;P
