Couple of questions from a newbie

1. Can you export your characters from a game so you could play them in a new session?

2. Is registering a game on your impulse account enough to get 2 expansions for free when they come out or do I have to do something else? Is it true you get these expansions for free at all?

3. Is there any mod in the work to make the game look less high-fantasy-colorful-kiddy-like and more sinister? At least some simple filter?

4. Achievements don't work?

5. How do I save downloaded patches so I don't have to redownload them when I reinstall the game?

1. Every Character is stored and can be used in a following game again.

2. I do not know.

3. Not that I knew of. Turn down the alpha value to make it darker?

4. There are archivements? I don't get all the hype about archievements anyway.

5. Not that I knew of, but the patches haven't been so big, that it'd take ages to get the game to the newest version again, so why bother?

So no one knows how to answer any of these questions except the first one? And how do I store character from actual campaign with it's lvl and items so I could use it in new one?

End of konjad's quote

you can't - the soveregn at the start is saved, but level and items are not (otherwise it would be too difficult to balance with the other characters)

re the other questions

2. I don't think anything else would be necessary as that would confirm the purchase date.

3. Not yet - you would need to rework the graphics for every single item.  No one has done that yet.

4. In what sense don't work - you can see some achievements but can't do them? - they normally only wiork when you start the game through impulse in any case.

5. You can't save the updates, but if you reinstall impule can patch to the latest version.  There was some talk about sending ot CD's with uopdates, but I didn't follow that too closely.

OK, thanks for answers, guys.

Well, I logged into Impulse yet I haven't got any achievements for playing so far... except if ie. Build a City isn't just for building a town but it requires something more than just that.

Achievements are only gained through multiplayer.

ok, thx.

If I use Archive File in Impulse will it pack my game with patches so I could burn it on DVD and then install from that DVD with patch already installed?

I think you saw it but in case you didn't

Just to avoid any misunderstanding (to all the people asking in this thread):

1.1 -> Free patch which leads to the final version of E:WoM and will be the basis for a demo.

1st expansion: Addon which will be free for everyone

2nd expansion: Addon which will be free for everyone who purchased E:WoM until the 31st of october.

Further expansions: ...will follow because Brad is addicted by its own Elemental universe.

I think there will be more than enough support for the game in the future. I am not afraid. Stardock isn't called Activision. And Brad isn't called Bobby...
End of Tobear's quote

see above for question 2 - Brad stated on that thread you just have to have updated your game at some point before 31 october so that Stardock know that you have purchased a copy by then.
