Imbueing Champions & some special ring trick?

In an old thread somewhere a while back, i saw someone mention something about an essence ring that can somehow be used to imbue champions and avoid reducing the essence of your sovereign?

I was wondering if this still applies with the latest updates and how exactly can it be done?

I found an essence ring in my current game but it gives the Hero only 1 manna which is not much use for anything at all?

You wear the ring, level up the hero, give him more essence when levelling up, then give the ring to someone else.

Where did you find this ring, I've never found it?

I can see this becoming very gamey, very quick. Every hero in my kindgom would heve essence, just pass it off.

Heavenfall - so the sovereign and imbueing is not involved?

cpl_rk - hmmm, i think one time i got the ring from a treasure? In my current game i thought i got it with the mission involving a key, not sure? Nevertheless, it would require allot of work to have every hero in your kingdom with essence, so i would say you would have earn't it!

I have gotten it before, but not since the latest updates.  So its either very rare, or was removed from the game.

It's a stupid ring.  If it couldn't be abused, it would have almost no use.  I just use the bajillion 0.5 essence potions around to make people casters.

It would be a task, but leveling up a guy to level 1 and 2 is very easy (it's just 10 exp points) & could go very quickly if you pre-positioned a bunch of level 1 heroes in the same area near 4 or 5 wandering monsters, which isn't too hard to find. Then you could level up 4 to 6 guys easily in  one or two turns by trading the ring around. Hell, it would even be worthwhile teleporting some upper-level guys that are close to levelling-up to the same area to gain essense in this way, it's just a matter of preplanning & positioning pieces. As a strategy player, that's what I do best

Of course, I think it's hokey & gamey and I think the idea of having a ring that can do this is not in the best interest of the game. I don't mind having an "essense ring" but it should have a restriction on it such that it can only be  worn by heroes who already have at least one point of essence, this would prevent that type of hokey "gaminess."

True, if it's only a one point ring and it can't be abused then it's next to useless. But, if instead it had, say, 3points of essence and one additional mana regeneration attached to it & couldn't be abused, then it would be more useful.

if it was simply one point of combat mana regen, then it would be great for your Sov.

Most of my hero's are around level 4 by now, so it would be tough going to get them imbued relying on leveling up and having only 1 ring, even including essence potions!

My hero's are using longbows anyway, (a couple with powerful swords) so realistically i would only need 2 or 3 with enough manna to cast inferno and my sovereign will be using all it's manna on telleport, that should do me. I have never used hero special abilities, probably never will owing to the fact that they don't work because of the need for manna.... and once they have manna, there are better things to do! Yea so Seems to me like allot of effort went into making these hero abilities but then made irrelevant because of manna and thus will mostly never get used! Rather odd,,,

I never seemed to get the Imbue Champion spell to work so I quite trying. The Essence potions seem to be plentiful though, give 2 of them to the hero of your choice and you have a new magic user. It takes a bunch of leveling up before they become of any use though!

I've found said +1 essence ring using the latest patch.  Thanks to you guys mentioning this a while back, I've never bothered to learn Imbue Champion, using the ring or essence potions to get the mana ball rolling on that Hero's next level up.  Usually takes a couple of level bumps though to get the mana up to a 'usable' level.

You don't need to give them two potions. One potion such that they have 0.5 essence is perfectly sufficient to allow them to spend XP on essence the next time they level.
