Make patches available for download, for offline players who own disc

Hello'

I've been following this game for ages with great hope. I don't have the Internet at home so I can't go online with it. Therefore I could only buy the retail disc version, which doesn't rely on online activation.

However! Apparently if I did buy the disc to play offline, I couldn't patch it.

If any games needs its' patches, Elemental is it!

I'd love to buy and play this game, my wish is that people like me who can't afford an Internet connection at home can still be catered for in some way. It's fast becoming impossible. Elemental is particularly frustrating because I can buy the disc and play offline....but I can't patch .

If you have access to broadband elsewhere, you can use Impulse Anywhere to grab the entire latest version of the game to take home and install. We're also planning to offer updated discs with the latest version once the updates slow down a bit.

Why can't just the patch be made available by the Impulse Anywhere.  Downloading the whole game is somewhat punitive to those who are forced to do it for being off the grid, especially when not by choice.  I love my job but it places me off of net for the time being and I am being treated like a liar or a thief by your intractable hidebound policy.

Because there is no "just the patch". Impulse updates products by checking your installed files against the server and simply replacing whatever differs. Not needing to build and test standalone patch executables for every update allows us to provide more updates more frequently.

It's not a DRM thing, and if it were it would be a crappy one. All you'd have to do to bypass it would be to copy an updated version of the game.

It's purely for technical reasons.
