[Discussion] Adventuring Parties

So, I know that among the many things this game was advertised as having waaaaaaay back when (before the first beta, perhaps?) was random parties of adventurers who did various things.

At the moment, we know there are adventurers (or, at least, the computer says that there are) but we've yet to really see them. There are no groups of heroes wandering the map, exploring the many dungeons that we unlock...things of that nature. It's kinda disappointing, actually, that in such a wide, open world as this, the only meaningful players are the factions.

Thus, I ask you, Elemental Idea Community, do you want the game to have parties of adventurers who do their own thing? Or do you like the way the game is now - the world being wide open, with only the factions having any sway on the world?

There actually are parties of adventurers. When certain NPC meets, they can form a party and walk around with one another. It's somewhat rare because it requires specific NPCs. Although they don't explore dungeons or anything like that, they just act like any other NPC.

There's actually a little bug with this, because when you hire one you end up hiring them all, which sometimes gives you negative gold because the price only checks the party leader.

Oh, I'm aware of the current parties in the game. But they really don't do anything. And there's the 'rare' part, too. I don't want them to be common, but more uncommon. Not rare.

They should be more than just a group of heroes. They should actually have an effect on gameplay. If parties of adventurers frequently unleash demons and the like, we ought have the ability to see them do it. Maybe a dungeon pops up, they visit it, and then they warn you about it. Or they die in the process of retrieving treasures. Whatever it may be - there should be a great deal more than a less-evil group of bandits.

Before moving to groups of heroes, lets improve individual heroes first.

Parties can be like a group of 3 heroes symbolized as a single unit.

It can be bonuses given to heroes as long as they are in the same group as a different hero in their "friend list".

It can be a super-hero unit, with more abilities than usual to represent a party of different people.

But whatever it is, it's pointless to really consider the options before the basic hero idea is complete.
