Specialize Champions as City Governors Instead Than Warriors (new buildings can improve traits)

In the Total War games champions  (called generals in that game) by spending time inside a cituy gain attributes that specialize them as governors better traits are acquired in those cities with specific schools bad traits are acquired when spending too much time in rural cities or in cities very far from the civilized world. Because of the mechanics of this game I suggest a similar situation, where the champions could be specialized as governors by making them study specific traits once they spend time in cities with specific guilds or academies, but maybe they could also buy items that give them certain skills (imroving maybe those attitudes that they already have) That could also allow to gain more tech points without the need to spam cities, and would allow the creation of new buildings.

Been talking about this for a while.  Also need the ability to marry your kids off to your champions.

I agree with all of this. I agreed with the other dozens of posts on the same topic. I agree hoping that the Devs will implement this, because I hate having things with one purpose and one purpose only.

Indeed; since long before the first public beta.

Implementing some sort of civilian functionality for champions might even be the hat trick needed to put the non-conquest end conditions on nearly equal footing with the boring old war wins. Especially if the old ideas about secession and governing as a skill/stat get worked into the mix.

I like that a lot.  Already some champions have bonuses that apply when stationed in a city.  Why not give us the option to set them up that way.  If you want more Gildar then the champion has to be a city governor. SO if you have 5 champions with special skills, you can only utilize one at a time, or three or whatever.  This way each city is truly unique and functional.  I am sick of having war as my only viable option to win. In a world recovering from catastrophe, I'd think people would be less likely to war with each other and look more towards a peaceful coexistence.
