1.09 crash - freezing

Greetings.

Just installed my 1.09 patch and got a serious issue now. Upon starting, the game freezes in the 1st screen (Dragon with "Elemental..." txt). Not only that, i cannot jump back to windows thus i must reset my computer to try anew. I tried changing the setup ini file, but it doesnt work.

What is the cause of this? How can it be fixed? Gotta wait for 1.1 version?

Anyone else had the same experience? Any help is more the useful.

there have been SOME reports of an issue where the data.zip is rebuilt which can take up to 10 minutes during the dragon screen.

this might be what is happening
