Maps directory?

I have searched to no avail.

Where do you save downloaded maps?

I have tried my docs/my games/elemental/(created a maps folder)Maps and they don't show up on the map load screen.

Thanks

Ok, here is the issue.

Of the maps I looked at on the Elemental Mod site there is no file extension of xml so the system can't recognize the file and there is no png file for a thumbnail preview.

Is something stripping off the extension?

kapeman, you DO have the 'hide file extensions for known file types' OFF(de-selected/unticked) in your files/folders options?

for me with the hide extensions off, I CAN see the png & xml on the files.

my guess is that windows is hiding the information from you thinking it helps the user to not know about that sort of stuff(bloody M$ and their idiocy)

and yes BOTH the map's png & xml SHOULD be in the my docs/my games/elemental/Maps folder.

No, that option is disabled immediately after I install the OS.

The download from the different source has both files with extensions. The download from Elementalgame.com only has the main map file with no extension. The file sizes match, however.
