"I speak severely to my boy, I beat him when he sneezes.
For he can thoroughly enjoy the pepper when he pleases."
It's all frame of mind really. Some people just like to be miserable. If you keep in mind the ideal of how you think things should be, and compare that to how things almost always deviate from that ideal (and considerably), then you're likely to find yourself a frequent malcontent for your insistent focus on the differences. In other words, you become the type of person who people look at and say, "It sucks to be you.".
That's not to say that you're necessarily wrong, it's just the way you react and behave as a result of your disappointment. If you like to be miserable, by all means go ahead, but as with any disease, it's common courtesy to prevent it from spreading.
