[Suggestion : Idea] Squad commanders + heroes

hey - i was thinking that the various groups you build should have a unit that was the "leader" and without any special commander build to it - they would just be a standard group - but now if you have a hero you could aay - join this group and lead it - and they receive a bonus depending on the leaders level/att/def etc - this would make heroes moresurvivable in the end game where the massive armies are near unkillable with heroes. - but now the heroe - and his loyal guardsmen can take em on!


this would make it very interesting so every time you got new units you would want to make sure your channeler had the best Guardsmen to protect him :D

just a thought - whatcha think ?

This could alsobring back organized feat - as if the channel had this - the unit he "leads" would be able to follow him at his speed

I'd agree with this proposal in general.  I think it would open up a lot of possibilities for unit improvement and champion usefulness.

Same here.  I'd like to see more character among the heroes by having a broader array of powers and abilities, and then having their entire army take on some of the qualities of the heroes in the group. 

Just giving buffs, like movement speed, is a good start--but maybe also certain static abilities or elemental resistances across all units in the army the hero occupies.  One might then choose the composition of units around particilar heroes based on their power(s).  That would offer interesting strategic options.

Guildar, tech knowledge, and arcane knowledge per turn is nice and I like that, but buildings already do that, and there are a lot more abilities that champions could offer.

exactly - there are many things heroes could add to a group

exp bonus (training the men)
better attack bonus (coordinates the men better)
better defence bonus (hold the liiiiine!!)

meat shields so a hero nowdoes go poof when a spell is fired on his group (the men bravely leaping up to catch arrows and spells to their faces (lol ok this one doesent make sense but it makes the heroe able to actually survive a round of combat against a channeler - or atleast increase it)

faster move
faster combat

so many things could inhance the game by adding squad+leaders

i hope more people chime in around this!
