Hi Grunge> I love so much of what you have done with custom weapons, armors, etc.  I havn't downloard any yet.  Question:  are these visuals only, or do they have custiommzed stat (attk, def, etc)?

They do have customized stats.  However I really suggest people modify them to their liking, as I am not good at balance.

Hi all.

I have a newbie question . . .

Which software do you use to actually create the weapon? Do you have to upload a template to something like Photoshop and edit it there? 

I have not done any modding before but would like to try and make a weapon or two!

The models themselves are made in 3ds Max.  It is not a cheap program.  I believe some people have had success with Blender.

This is prolly a noob question... But why can I not use the weapons with the "Kingdom" side of the game? They only show up on the Empire side... :(

Might have to do with some of the settings in the xml,  I have been informed I might have done some naming wrong.  Check that out, and in my next release I will have the correct xml naming to give the items to the kingdom at the same level as empire.

Yes the aztec sword is in the works as well, as a mage staff, and a crossbow or two.

I have a question for y'all is the website I am using to distribute the files easy to use, or should I modify the distribution.

I may get these and balance them for play in the game if it is ok. I will link to here or put your name with it, it would be nice to have your weapons set up inagme so they flowed with everything else. It looks like most of them would be special weapons, either pricy and avilable later in the techs or maybe as quest rewards. The game has the basics for weapons and armors covered but there is always room for special items. It would make the game a lot more interesting to play.

Working on an aztec set, going to throw in some knives as well.

Any changes you want to the aztec sword?  I am trying to use ingame textures as much as possible.  If you want a custom texture I can do that though.

Well 3D Grundge if you keep making quality weapons like this I will keep adding them in. Thing is the shop weapons are getting to be pretty big in selection. Will have to get more creative about how they get in game...like via quest or what have you and add special properties to them. Very good work, makes the game quite a bit more fun with added choices. And they look as good as default weapons..you can't tell they were not made by same people.

 

Some new armors would be nice, Like maybe a high end offensive leather set.  Might look into adding another warfare tech for archer too. Some fo those bows probably should be tiered away from cedar longbow.

Is there any chance you can add things like this into the official game, through expansions or patches? I know other developers have had problems with the incorporation of mod assets into main games before, presumably due to legislative issues relating to who holds the actual rights and so on.

But this, this is just the kind of stuff I think is the best, god-tier mods; The ones that can potentially fit seamlessly into a game without issues.

 

Edit: Might I perhaps also be as bold as to suggest the creation of a "face" or "mask" equipment slot, as to prevent the necessity of having a combined hat/mask item, in addition to a separate hat and a separate mask? Even if you make it practice to have no stats, or even force 'no-stats' on such a mask slot.

There is a head accessory slot, that can be set to clothing or equipment,  It removes the beards but functions pretty great as a mask slot.  If you downloaded my skull mask, this uses the accessory slot, and can be modified to be in either of the sections given stats or no stats.

 

My bandit mask also uses the head accessory spot allowing the person to wear a helm with it, or my hats that will be released shortly.

Item Pack 003 will be released some time today, with a bonus of the bandit mask and hat that will be released with the outlaw pack later this week or early next depending on armor creation.

 

 

 

Edit:  I am also working on a program to install my item packs a little easier.  so all you will have to do is download and run the program and everything should be in working order.  This will be released before my other program that will help with weapon/item/armor creation from an xml standpoint.
