INSTALLATION

Place the files in the mods directory inside elemental data within Documents/My Games(see example path). Make sure to turn on "use mods" in the options menu.

Example path for files C:\Users\**YOUR NAME**\Documents\My Games\Elemental\Mods\Data\English\Only-SP

Staves have a small defense bonus. 1 Def for Staff and 2 Def for War staff

3D Grundge made these weapons see above link, I just took them and adjusted the XML file so that it works with the rest of the tweaked weapons files. Just adjusted costs, damage and speed on weapons, and placed them in different tiers. ALL CREDIT FOR WEAPONS GOES TO 3D GRUNDGE. I am just providing a tweaked XML file and a installation that works in game.

 

FIRST Install 3D Grundge items

Rebalanced Weapons and Armors

 

New files for 1.09. 1.09 had just a few issues, mainly with the leather armor sets. So I adjusted them so every armor set has a use and will be useful until newer techs make it obsolete. I tweaked the weapons for the Kingdom factions for very nice balance. Maces and blunt weapons are slower but heavier hitting and swords and daggers are faster with less damage. The difference is not too ridiculous however. Short Swords cost less now, before they cost about as much as a broad sword which was in the next tier or tech.

Also changed Karrazan values and Elementium Karrazan as well. They are more in tune with the rest of the weapons. A Karrazan with 2 speed and 12 damage(1 handed mind you!) was just insane(now 11 damage 1 speed -- Longsword has .8 speed). Hopefully that stops the AI from zerging with those weapons. And in addition staves offer 1 speed but pretty dismal damage to hopefully entice spell casters to use them.

Staves are now have a defensive component to them. Since you are forced to forgo a shield it makes a little sense. Additionally now staves add a little defense and a good amount of combat speed and pretty paltry damage. Should be a good weapon for casters who are not combat oriented. Working on a mage pack to add alongside that will be available by teching up the magic tree. These items should add caster friendly stats. The goal is to make robes and mage weapons a must have for any serious caster.

 

Below is a list of the current values for armors(most all this is in 1.09 already),so I just fixed the leather armors and the Legendary set.

 

Light Plate Armor

Native - Helm 3(-.1) Cuirass 5(-.1) Armlets 3(-.1) Greaves 3(-.1) Shield 3(-.1, 4 Dodge) = Total 17 Def, -.5 Speed, 4 dodge

New    - Helm 1.5(-.05) Cuirass 6(-.1) Armlets 1.5(-.05) Greaves 5(-.1) Shield 4(-.1, 6 Dodge) = Total 18 Def, -.4 Speed, 6 dodge


Heavy Plate Armor

Native - Helm 4(-.1) Cuirass 8(-.1) Armlets 4(-.1) Greaves 4(-.1) Shield 4(-.1, 8 Dodge) = Total 24 Def, -.5 Speed, 8 dodge

New    - Helm 2.5(-.1) Cuirass 8(-.2) Armlets 2.5(-.1) Greaves 7(-.2) Shield 6(-.2, 6 Dodge) = Total 26 Def, -.8 Speed, 6 dodge

 

Master Light Plate

Native - Helm 8(-.1) Cuirass 10(-.1) Armlets 8(-.1) Greaves 8(-.1) Shield 8(-.1, 10 Dodge) = Total 42 Def, -.5 Speed, 10 dodge

New    - Helm 3(-.05) Cuirass 12(-.1) Armlets 3(-.05) Greaves 10(-.1) Shield 7(-.1, 10 Dodge) = Total 35 Def, -.4 Speed, 10 dodge

 

Master Heavy Plate

New weapon file fixed problem with no speed modifiers being present on some weapons. Need to tweak leather shirt in Corearmor file it's set at 2.2 Defense vs Padded leather at 2.

Looks great! Have you adjusted any of the costs to make them more balanced or sensible?

EDIT: Just realized the above statement was vague, I was mostly referring to the weapons. For example, the short sword was as expensive as the Axe (not sure if this is still the case). They really needed some comparative spreadsheet balancing.

Not really, just the legendary shield it was a 1000 its like 220 now. The armor is priced pretty consistently I did not have to change much. Now if people think some armors should cost more or less then that can get worked in. I always have so much gold in my games, the cost never bothered me. But it can be adjusted if needed,

 

If you are refering to costs for quipping units, I haven't even looked at that. I can but it will have to be tomorrow. Mostly this is for performance balance and for equiping champions. AS far as the metal/materials/crystal/elementium costs go I have not changed that at all.

Also I am playing through the game now taking notes on armors and weapons and will tweak the files more if there are still problems. I will look at prices next. It might not even be necessary if 1.09 is already balanced. But at least till 1.09 comes out people can play with a bit more balance.

Updated files fix for titan blade in Grundges weapons. It was being given along side the longsword which was not really all that great. So it has been bumped up to top tier tech.
