Colour Pad: A formal discussion on... well I just don't know how to use it!!!

I have color pad and it great. So how do I use it?

I here other skinners speak about how they use it to make skins (like Chad Ross) but I don't see any menu options that allow me to get color information of Microsoft's hex code info on colors (some kind of HTT12X4 looking alpha-numeric code)

any help is appreciated (or telling me about another program that can help would be cool too)

I couldn't find colorpad when I needed a color picker so I got Switch instead. Easy to use and skinnable.

I'm not sure if I understand the question, but I think I might.

Click and hold down on the color swatch in Colorpad, and your cursor will turn to a color picker (crosshairs, I believe).

Move your mouse to a color on your screen that you want to capture, and then release the mouse button. Now the color swatch in Colorpad has turned to the color you picked.

Then, just click on Colorpad (to make sure it's the active window) and hit Ctrl+C to copy the hex code to your clipboard. Now you can paste that hex code into Photoshop or SKinStudio or wherever you want to use it.

Does that help at all?

Yes, it does help. But why do we need to use such thing if we can remember the code for that colour ? Train Your memory, people..
