[1.08] [Bug] Has anyone tried to imbue a champ with the sov's last 3 essence?

When I tried the game CTD.   :S    Am I to take this as the Dev's saying what the hell were you thinking?  That's your Sov!!!!!X| X|

Well I was thinking it would be a really good caster champ and I had room in my stack and I was not to far from levelling my sov...

Anywho has anyone else experienced this one?

I'll load the savegame and see if it is repeatable.

I heard of someone doing it and their sovereign ceased to be a channeller, so do not do it.

Anyway as of 1.1 when the magic system is changed this won't be a problem, but maybe they will address it in 1.09 the crash anyway, obviously with 0 Essence under the current system you Soverign will cease to be a channler.

As it is now you can make a character gain essence, thus becoming a spellcaster even without the sovreign. You need to find one of those items that give you one "extra essence point. If you have no points that unit becomes a spellcaster and then can increase essence as he gains experience.

This is 100% reproduceable.  Try it out.  Maybe instead of crashing the game, the game should provide a warning that it will not allow a sov to imbue with it's last 3 essence.

This is late in the mid game of a large map and my Sov had 17 mana so it was no evident to me immediately that it was my last three but I have three shards and several Temples of Essence.

SD Please add this to your bugs to be fixed list along with the Kingdom/Mace/warhammer Tech tree.

I understand that the Mana pool system should prevent this from happening but the game should not crash to desktop it should prevent the illegal action gracefully.
