I believe that there is a basic misconception. Slow pace is not equal to a sense of "epic", only the size of the map creates that, while being unable to perform enough satisfying actions each turn in a TBS game makes it boring. At least it does so when engaged in multiplayer. I am also saying that because when the developers finally realize that the natural evolution of multiplayer in this game is Play By E Mail games, they will find out that once you send a turn by email to someone, that person has to have fun and do things each time he plays. Slow transitory turns are the sure death of games like this.
Another thing that bothers me is that I noticed that when I resolve a battle in autofight, I lose one movement point, if instead I fight that battle manually (which had to be easy, boring and useless if I didn't want to fight it in the first place) I keep my movement point. My God that's the most ridiculous annoying feature I have ever seen! It's just a way to encourage me to play something I don't feel like playing! It feels like one of those feature you find in bad role playing games that try to appear longer than they are by making you do boring loooong repetitive things.
Please remove that feature, give one or 2 extra movement points to every unit and introduce (in the future of course) a PBEM feature!
