Unless I am missing something, a caster can cast "arcane armor" & "arcane weapon" only on himself.  Can cast "protect friend" and "stone-skin" on another, and control who gets it, only if the target is standing all by himself on an adjacent square. 

It would really help if we could select the target(s) in the stack to cast on.  Even MOM let you do that 16 years ago.  Aow:SM had a better system where you could put checkmarks on all the eligible targets in the stack and enchant as many as you had the magic power for.

I'd like to have some melee heroes with arcane weapons & armor.  Can't do it unless I imbue them, but I'm talking unintelligent oafs who wouldn't be good casters, so imbuing them is a waste.  I'd like to "protect friend" my whole army, especially if they make changes to combat like "defender first" that mean the bad guys get to cast on me before I kill them.  Can't do that at without a very tedious process of moving 1st guy out of the stack, cast on him, move him back, then move the next target out of the stack..... repeat until bored to tears.
