makes no sense that units regenerate mana & hit points only in battles

What makes a unit spend several turns without regenerating mana or hit points (one turn should be roughly the equivalent of a couple of months, considering the children's age), then suddenly as soon as an enemy is presentthat same units starts regenerating like crazy.

I believe the mana regeneration should be constant (a little faster than usual) and the hit points regenerating should be triggered by something: maynbe the fact of being hit. Otherwise it just makes no sense that if I need to regenerate wounds I can just engage in a battle and run around wasting turns.

Also your children and there children are much stronger than you will ever be. The can regen in combat but the most powerful person in the kingdom becomes quickly outclassed.

In Elemental as your blood dilutes it actually does the opposite and becomes many times stronger.

I had not noticed this healing / regen mana issue.  Is this true in ver 1.0x as well, or only with patches?

I do agree that progeny should not always be better.. or worse.

I think AoW:SM has a better idea for regeneration as an ability; in that game it causes your HP to return to full by the next turn.
