Quest progress

I did try to SEARCH, but found nothing relevant.

I have a problem with quests - once there are multiple quests in progress, I can browse their list, but there is no way to see the destination of the quest (or is there???). I had a "Escort noblewoman" quest, but I could not find out where the hell should I escort her. I know it's shown in the beginning, but it's hard to remember everything, especially across multiple sessions.

On the Cloth Map, Quest goals are highlighted yellow,  just zoom out and look around, usually lit up too.  I have a prob now where when i finish the quest the build i got it from doesnt disapper, IE the Inn or the Hut. its annoying when its in the path i want my city to take.

Yup...I have experienced this problem too. Also I have an issue in some games, where a quest-offering-tile does nothing when you enter it. Annoying, since you want to do the quest, of course, but also annoying, since the tile never clears at all, so you can't develop on it.

Quests.  Hmm.

1.  Quest Journal needs to be more interactive: you should be able to see current objective in the journal, and click on the description to see it on the map.  You know - like a role-playing game.

2.  Color of the quest location needs more differentiation to distinguish Quests from Gilden's cities/stuff.  Right now it is easy to lose a quest location amidst Gilden's holdings.

Couple bits of quest fun lately on the current build for me, also:

1) On the Sagog's egg quest, I got the egg, went back to the location where quest originated and...nothing.  Tried giving the egg to a different hero and still nothing.  Only thing I haven't tried is giving egg to my sovereign to try.

2) Destiny's Tutor quest - got the original event to kick it off.  Went to the next location for it.  That location disappeared off the map, but I didn't get a text update or a zoom to where the next step in the quest goes.

1. Will I had probelms with that quest too.. but I got the dialogue about Sagog joining me.. but she took the egg and ran...  Was annoying..  I wanted my dragon of doom.. lol

Make sure your sov has the egg and it is NOT equipped.  I got Sagog with no problems.  On the combat map it looks like her tail is going to whack the guy standing behind her.  She is huge!

I had the same problem with the Destiny's Tutor quest as you.  I think it might be bugged.

It wasn't the sov that got the Sagog quest, he was off busy with other tasks and it was one of his children that stumbled on the quest.  I've completed the quest in prior games (all before 1.08) but only with my sovereign that I can recall.  It would be interesting if this quest is keyed 'sovereign only'.  I'll try giving the egg to sov when I get home tonight.

Though with the current glitches around activated abilities, the doom dragon may not be as doomy anymore :)

WOW....this thread got derailed fast.

 

As far as I remember, this thread was about general problems with quests - not specific problems related to the dragon quest.

I have been railing against the general quest interface since beta. The hiergammon is pretty much useless to actually see the status of current quests and they need a list system like a myriad of other games with a panel with details on how to complete, and where to complete the quest. AoW had a decent quest function, look there for a start.

Oh and... MORE QUESTS!

I had the same problem with that quest. I had already completed it once, but lost the turn's progress due to a crash. When I reloaded the autosave and completed it again I didn't get Sagog. I rage quit after that.

the "Destiny's Tutor" quest doesnt spawn a visible building on the cloth map but if your zoom in and move your unit a place shows up but it just disappears when you touch it. Having same problem with the Sagog quest as well. She took my egg and ran away.

 

FYI: Its not derailing if we are still talking about quests.

I've found the quests have gotten in the way of my playing the game.  I get too frustrated with huts not giving quests and not disappearing and chains getting lost.  Thankfully there's a toggle when you launch a new game so I've just been turning them off.

I hope they get fixed up soon.  The idea is great.
