Problems with Impulse

I have had sins of a solar empire for a while and impulse has never worked. Every time I try to start it up, I get an error message. When I try to send the error message it says "there was an error while sending the error report." HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?! Right now, I am trying to get an update so I can play a mod, but I can't do that when the only program that updates the game won't work. HELP!

Did you try email support at [email protected] 

Include which OS you are using and with what browser. Do you have Admin rights?

Did you try the mod? The last update did not change very much and might work without the update.

Maybe you have a very old version from Impulse... go to http://www.impulsedriven.com/about , click the impulse client for your system ( beware that Vista/win7 client is not identical to these for xp... the big button "Free Download" is not for xp... if you have xp, click the right link up the big button... once done, uninstall the old version and install these downloaded...

Beware that Impulse ( and sins mod tools, along with particule forge, etc ) will not work without .NET 2.0 ( or more recent version )...

If you have a firewall, be sure that it don't block impulse ( by example port 6112 is the game host port, 6000 is the broadcast port, 7000 is the ico server, etc )

If impulse have never work for him, the last version without Impulse was sins 1.05 ... no expension pack too since these are installed with Impulse only...

I did all of the steps you suggested, and the error message will come up during the installation. It mentions .net 2.0, but I have that installed. I have tried to mod though and it gives me a minidump when I try to activate it. this is the only mod that does this too, becuase I have 2 others that work fine.

 Tynan0 i have exactly the same bloody problem as you i did all the steps everyone told us to do i even had recived a reply from the stardock team AND STILL I GET THE SAME FRICKING THING COMING UP!!!!!!! i downloaded the newest version of impulse and still exactly the same thing i cant even get a hint on how to fix this!!!! then the other thing that pisses me off more was when i downloaded impulse for the 56th TIME! it said thank you for downloading impulse we are sure that you will love the program. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>:(  i whant to update the game but i cant i whant to play mods but i cant. If you ask me they should have just made the updating like every normal game WITHOUT SOME STUPID PROGRAM TO DO IT INSTEAD!!! this is realy stupid and raging as hell! I wish a team member from stardock would acctualy bother looking at these questions and acctualy do something about it!
