[1.08b] Crashing after researching technology

from Elemental Forums

I'm still getting random crashes at the start of new turns, usually just before or just after I select a new technology to research.  It happened often in 1.07, just happened for the first time (but twice in a row) about 200 turns into a new game with 1.08b.

Figured out my problem.  I disabled all music and ambient sounds and I haven't crashed.  Apparently I had turned it off when I got the 1.08 patch and turned it back on a few turns before my crash. 

For me, my Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card works best with no music in this game.  Time to make an Elemental play list on Itunes.
