[1.08b Beta] [Bug UI] Build orders are placed everywhere but the place you tried to build

Yes, this is still happening. It happens from the cloth map, it happens form the engine-map. You open the build menu and choose abuilding. You click on one green-bordered tile and the camera moves a bit and the build order is placed somewehre else. I know it happened for some other folks but because there aren't so many complaints about this (believe me when it's happening it's quite annoying) I think it's some problem with my machine, so here's a debug.err: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6141154/2010_09_15_debug.err

I first mentioned this in the beta: https://forums.elementalgame.com/384839.

Using the city build zoom mode should prevent this from happening while we work to resolve the issue.

This happens to me all the time. Another workaround is to immediately cancel the building from the build queue and try again. You get the resources back when you cancel.

I noticed it too. But apparently it stopped when I uninstalled/reinstalled to get rid of the bugged multiplayer patch. I also noticed it gets worse based on the distance fom your city center, It actually looked like the camera was "defaulting" to a fixed over-the-center view, and that movement is what makes the click miss it's spot.

i'm not using multiplayer patch.. and this has happened to me since 1.0 (unless what i've experienced is something similar but different).. used to be a lot worse though

using city zoom build mode doesn't solve anything. i've tried with both on and off as i thought the zoom mode is the culprit... in fact, i think zooming out helps. zoom out a bit more... but not all the way to cloth map (haven't tried building in cloth map yet).. this is especially common when building a city that spans a long narrow strip.

what happens is that you click to build somewhere and the camera just jumps to the city centre and the building is placed where the new mouse curser happens to be.

heck.. if you try holding mouse button without releasing it (to place the building) you'll see your screen scrolling in all sorts of wonky directions and keeps jumping back to the centre - where you don't want it!
