Getting Equipment to your Champions

the 3-step method

1. You have the appropriate tech and resources.

2. You have the appropriate tech, but not enough resources.

3. You do not have the appropriate tech.

If 1, simply buy the weapon at "the armory", state owned, costs the exact resource requirement. Accessible only to yourself.

If 2, buy the weapon at "the store", privately owned, accessible to yourself, NPCs, and Rival Champions

If 3, buy the weapon at a Rival Factions "Store", privately owned, accessible to yourself, NPCs, and Rival Champions

yeah i like it, BUT i don't think that you should be able to buy stuff from your enemy, UNLESS the champ has a special trait called smuggler.  this way you can slip in with him and smuggle your enemies stuff out!

CAN you buy stuff from enemies?  i never even thought to try.

i think by 'rivals' he meant 'friendly factions'

Regarding "accessible to yourself", it does seem every champ has to buy their weapons and gear separately. Even though everyone is in the Sovereign's group, he cant hand out one weapon to each after buying a few. Also, you cant change the weapon of a group, eg archers have a mace in their backpack and you replace their longbows with mace for mano a mano combat, nope, cant do that.

i think you can use trade items and have the sov buy a load and then pass them around. but that'll be more steps than buying with each hero.

if i remember correctly, you can switch heroes in the shop (some left right arrow icons to click)... just like you can switch heroes in the trade screen.

Since you can only buy while within borders, I would presume you could only buy from your enemy if you have a peace treaty with them ... hopefully you aren't able to buy from them when you are in their borders as the result of being at war with them, that should be considered a bug if you can.

Yea ... you would (or should) need an open borders treaty in order to "shop" in another faction's Item Shop.

another way to get diplomatic (with a high tech civ) to equip your Champions with much better equipment than could normally be achieved.

i think they should just normalise item costs across the board: i should have access to any item i have researched in the shop, for a gold price that is roughly equivalent to what it costs for my troops (ie, most mundane items should be less than 10 gold). it's ridiculous that my troops are generally better equipped than my sov. this means a big power increase for sovs, which i think is a good thing. if your worried about players getting "everything" too quickly, then what the stores need are more, more powerful items in the store that go beyond the mundane stuff.

also, dynamic unit cards that show the items i've aquired plz.
