1.08 bug game crashs when i try to build first city

the game ran for me out of the box... then i patched it it now crashes when i try to build my first city right after i name it.

 

unknown software exception (0xc000000d) location 0x016161a6

 

sorry i am a bit of a noob as far as repoting this stuff. any help at all would be great

ok found the crash log but i have no idea how to make it a link thingy. if you need it ask i will be happy to email it or post it on here

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.

If there was a dump zip created in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic on Windows XP), please post it via drop.io.

happy i didnt restart game till i heard something from you guys so here it is

unfortunatly there was no dump zip

and now my hardware

AMD athalon 64x2 dual core processor 5200 2.71 ghz

2.00 gb ram

nvidia GeForce 9800 gt video card

It looks like one of the screen files may be damaged. Try deleting everything from C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Screens (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Screens on Windows XP). Failing that, try a full reinstall via Impulse.
