Unit Level, will it break / make the game unbalance for long run?

I don't know about this, but don't you think that unit level will make the game unbalance or not fun for multiplayer game?

It is not only about the Elemental. But look at DOTA (Warcraft 3 Mod), The side who have higher level will always has better chance to win the game.

I Just imagine, when in multiplayer game, one player has already the highest level party, then he / she kicks the other's highest level party. That's mean a game over for the other players. Because with that bad arse units, the losing player will lost the chance to win the game. That's why, a lot of strategy game, Including AOW, Starcraft, and other will limit the unit level to only Heroes.

It is not only for Multiplayer, in Singleplayer, the AI will not able to keep up the killer party owned by Player when the player has already at least level 6 or 7 units on their parties.

The problem is, watching a unit gaining level is fun. it is the power of Elemental : War of Magic in the mind of gamers. So what do you think? Should it remove, or limited or what?

I think, the developer should make an option on the new game option. One is for people who want to feel RPG feel that allow the units gaining level, the other is for people who want more challange / feel more balanced game by turning off the unit level on the game (only sovereign and heroes can gain level)

With the way things sit currently I don't think this will be a problem.  With non-champion units levels only give a small increase to health.  For example, a level 50 (ridiculous level I know) Familiar will still get slaughtered by a level 1 Ice Lord (love that summon).  The familiar just doesn't have the attack and defense to compete, though obviously the Ice Lord may have to spent a few rounds smacking the familiar around while it misses.

Now if one player has a couple level 10+ Ice Lords running around and the other player only has level 1 Ice Lords this would give the first player a significant advantage.  But then the second player has probably already lost anyway at this point, getting level 10 Ice Lords takes time which means the first player has had them a lot longer.

I used summons as an example because regular units only level if they are Kingdom, Empire units don't level up.  Besides, as it sits units become obsolete quickly so levels don't matter as much, plus experienced unit training can offset this somewhat.

There's also the fact that power-leveling a few units means you aren't using the latest and greatest units.  Unless you've already researched up to the best units, then it comes back to the one that got there first will have higher levels and so deserves the advantage anyway.

Champions are another matter, but as it is currently champions are a joke.  Unless you do heavy notable location exploring, get lucky, and give all items to one champion then you might get a 100+ attack and defense champion running around until it meets a 400+ attack and defense company of hammer wielders that slap the champion and his ~20 health into next week.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

Empire units do level up. Only those broken pre-designed peasants don't.
