Out of Memory Bug is getting out of hand

I'm now getting crashes with the "out of memory" bug every 2 or 3 turns...at least. Hopefully tomorrow's update will be released as scheduled and will address this issue!

I thought they were QA tomorrow and released sometime after that.  I hope it does address the OOM bug for you, I can usually go a go 50+ turns before I stop.  But I usually stop anyway.  2 or 3 turns would be frustrating.  Hope 1.08 helps you.

Is there anything particular about your computer? How much RAM do you have? I have 3GB on a windows 7 64 bit and I can easily go 100 turns before I have a (unexplained) crash to desktop.

I can normally go 200 -300 turns at least without a crash so I consider myself pretty lucky.

I am running Win 7 64 bit with a Phenom 965 and 8 gb of ram on an MSI 790FX-GD70 and a 60 gb SSD for the system drive, 300gb velocaraptor HDD for the games. I get OOM errors after extended play. I usually just restart the game, reload and continue on. Seems to happen without any warning or clues that I've noticed so far.

Same problem here.  OOM bug slowly makes the game slower and slower and I have 6 gigs of RAM, so RAM shouldn't be a question on my system.  I hope they deal with this as fast as possible.

It is something we're working on.  Obviously, it's not something as easy to resolve as we would like as it involves the way different drivers are handling different calls (which is why the experiences are so different).

Hopefully v1.08 will continue to help but I don't think there's a magic bullet, it'll just take time to find workarounds for different video cards.

If you have an ATI card, your best bet is to make sure you have the latest drivers (same for nVidia but ATI is more critical).

Win 7 64-bit 4GB system RAM, ATI 4850 1GB VRAM here.

I get OOM mostly on medium map sizes and above.  Ive been staying with small maps and only half the maximum number of factions and I have noticed a marked reducion in the frequency and subsequently the quantity of OOM CTD's.

It seemed that max AI players and larger map sizes made the OOM hit me evry 50 turns early on then decreased to 5-6 turns before late game.  Too annoying to play like that.   But Ive actually been able to finsh a couple of games on small map with less than max AI opponents.

I have only got that out of memory error once in about 50-60 hours with the game.

Sucks you are getting it so much. I get the crashes when i alt tab back to windwos while in game, other then that been pretty luck with barely any crashes.

I'm on Win7 Pro 64-bit with 4GB ram, 2.53 Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA 9400M. To be fair, I didn't get very many crashes in the early game. But in a "late" game, I get it every other turn. Eagerly awaiting 1.08 to see if it addresses the issue. Thought it would be out today, but looks like not (still time yet, I guess, but doesn't look promising!).
