I never research Recruiting->Heroes->Legends

I think the higher level champions are all recruit-able whether I research those techs or not so what's the point of researching those techs? Maybe you should have to recruit those techs before being allowed to recruit higher levels heroes. Thoughts?

I've had trouble seeing the point of that tech line myself. Possibly it spawns new champions?

Are they already spawned if the AI researches them, like the higher level monster thresholds?
