PLEASE give us "quick move / quick attack" in tactical battles!

PLEASE give us "quick move / quick attack" in tactical battles!

It makes the game slow as sludge without it!

The game needs a mode where animations are off and units just quickly zoom to their new positions when you move them in Tactical mode.  Also have a setting where fights instantly resolve and the damage numbers fly out.  You might think I'm being ADD or something but the fact is sitting and watching these animations of a guy walking 1 square of distance, multiplied by 1000 times is a shit-ton of wasted time.

Also why is there no hotkey for next-unit?  And units should also grey out or something similar once they have already moved.  This is all just normal, expected functionality for a turn based game;  none of it has ANY downside (as it's all optional anyway) and without it you really frustrate some gamers, most notably ME! =]

Thanks so much guys, keep up the great work otherwise.

I'd take "teleporting to new position" over "waiting for slow animation to finish" any day.

Same. I tried champions on horses again and it is agonising waiting for them to finish their animation even though nothing is happening. Simple battles take way too long.

I found it funny that there was a quick move option for the main map, but it didn't work for tactical map where it was really needed.  An animation speed slider would be awesome, it isn't just moving that is the problem, some hit animations last forever.

Since Elemental is unplayable for me I started replaying Elven Legacy again. I really like the way you can skip everything there - click attack starts. Click again - you see damage done. Click once, unit starts moving, second click - unit is there. You can watch or you can double click. Works really well for impatient users such as me.

Actually, if they took Elven Legacy and made that their tactical battle it wouldn't bother a bit :)

Very good points! An option on speeding the tactical combat would be great. Especially that is so so boring at the moment. You cannot even skip tatical combats because autocombat AI will let half of your heros and army die and will cast half of your pecious mana fighting caravans!!!

I defintely think this important and a magic/no magic button for auto resolution of tactical combat. I hate seeing my sovereign lose 5 mana in a big party auto resolving combat with 2 spiders; it really bugs me.

This.  I have 5 stacks of Archers, but my Sovereign is casting Morrigan's Spite on the 2 HP spiders?

Just wanted to add my voice to this (because of the whole post count = priority thing).  I would like very much to be able to turn off walk/attack animations.  I enjoy the challenge of a good game because it's like a puzzle.  After a while I don't want to have to "wait" for the game to catch up to me which the animations force me to do.  I understand some (maybe most?) people like watching the dragon spit fire at the enemy over and over and over again.  I don't.  I just want to click, click, click, enemy is dead, click, done.  On with my game.

Or if it seems like too much of a waste of the hours making the animations to skip them, well speed them up about 5-10 times or something.  Please and thank you.

Nice. Probably an option to "Auto" (while your watching) ... at various speeds.

In addition, options like "Quick Move" and "Quick Attack" to forgoe animations altogether.

I want a game. ... I don't want a lot of "animations" that will take a lot of time to perfect. I mean, if you want animations, make a frikking real time battle like total war. This turn based stuff can have Static 8-bit pics for all I care.

This slow tactical battle for now is game breaking for me. And this is why:

One AI got infinite debt bug, he is at -200k or so now. Because of that he can pump out endless armies, and that is reason i cannot lose even one unit or its game over.

Only way to do it is to use ranged units + freeze spell. Fights are usually pack of trolls vs 4 mounted archer squads + 4 sovereigns . Problem is that recent troll groups have 1000hp, it takes about 45min to kill such pack with archers, one archer attack takes 4-12hp, animation lasts about 10sec.

This forced me to use burned ground (capture towns and raze them) tactics against AI which i do not like because no AI yet can defend against it in TBS games i played so far. This feels like stealing candy from kid and immediately throwing into trash. Also while i am really excited about winning this game it gets sometimes boring during 1 hour tactical battle with pack of stupid trolls.

I second, faster/simpler animations option should be present.

And few fixed camera positions would be cool too. Like "top-down", "isometric", "from behind my forces" etc.

Also, I would like something in between "quick move" where units teleport to the new tile and the fully animated moves - so I could still see their path, like in any other strategy game (Civ, MoM).

Also, why didn't you guys use all the options from GalCivs? I miss "always use tactic battles", for example

I 100% agree with this. I 200% agree with the last sentance.

This is one of the main reasons (of many) I've grown bored playing this game, and sadly I'm now eagerly awaiting Civ5.  Gawd I can't wait for 1.1.but luckily I'll have Civ5 which will old me over until 1.1 actually comes out (I'm betting on waaay later than now imagined... waay to much to fix).

Yea that would be nice. I just wish Elven Legacy had a Sandbox play mode. Because they don't I don't play it anymore.

It is the only way to be sure the spider dies.

GAH! Quick move should be for Tactical Battles! ... :(

Its funny that its only for the strategic map.
