Getting more in depth questions now

Basically want to know if there is a way that anyone is aware of to save a character xml during game and call it back.

Example.

I want to take the current state of the soveriegn hero lets say level 10, who knows what the player leveled him up as. So we save the character, wipe him from the map then reload him in an entirely differant portion of the map, effectively transporting the player.

Another question I have.

Can I add onto a city improvement the ability to negate another improvement or block the ability of another improvement to be made?

Example.

Player makes a building and has the option to build a trade post a barracks or an influence building. player builds a trade center to help massively pump his economy however because of this the options to build a barracks and the diplomatic building are now no longer there, forcing the player to choose between styles of settlements in the city as opposed to each city being able to do absolutely everything they have to be specific and choose.

If anyone knows anything to get me on the right track here let me know!

got another one I just thought of too. Lets say I wanted to make a new tech tree based solely on the player not the city management types we have now.

So for example.

A rpg style campaign without any city type playing. The hero has a base technology gain of 1 and every tech is geared towards something else. like you have a defense catagory that each tech could upgrade various stats like dexterity or constitution, and an offensive catagory that would upgrade attack and maybe some passive attack bonuses littered in there. ect ect. Im sure I could modify things to negate or zero out experience gain negating the natural leveling up process just a matter of what I can do with the tech tree to modify the hero.

I ask because the natural level up process is bland, and I feel like the the tech tree should be able to give a signficantly larger amount of options for leveling up.

So basically turning the game into sort of king bounty rpg style?
