For openers, we are so surprised and impressed with your openness and honesty about the problems with this game! I just bought the game last week for my son, and we played it for the first time this weekend. We are experienced gamers, and we love the game! Yes, it has some fairly significant problems, but it has the potential to be one of the best ever. We have a few observations based on our first playthrough (we managed to win!):
1. The fog of war is much too thick, and is very annoying when you're trying to play the game. Once an area has been explored, the fog should be much thinner.
2. The people and city names are awful, unspellable and unpronounceable. I appreciate the fact that you have a name generator of which you are proud, but this isn't working. We would really love to have a way to load our own list of people and Thecity names as we create our own civilizations.
3. The graph at the bottom of the screen that shows the standing of each civilization in the six categories is so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it. Please, can you make it bigger so that we know how well we're doing in comparison to others? Possibly add the graphs to the kingdom info page so that we can see them full screen?
4. The city production in the heads-up display is being truncated, needs fixing.
5. We were hoping for random maps, which apparently are not yet ready. We would really like maps with more than one land mass.
6. We would like to see maps with more and better resource dispersion.
7. We were unable to equip our sovereign with weapons/armor as we wished.
8. Like everyone else, we were disappointed that multi-player is not yet available. We understand that in the beginning it is likely to crash and have multiple bugs, and we were wondering if you might consider releasing it initially for two players only, so that we can work with it and help you to get the bugs out. We do understand that even with our powerful gaming machines, there will be crashes.
Again, we think this is a terrific game with the potential to be truly outstanding. Please don't give up on it, take our suggestions to heart, and let's work together to make it live up to its potential! Thanks for all the hard work and honesty!
